The Keynsham Riverside Project entailed the redevelopment of a 1970s council office building into a new, luxury apartment block with housing for 95 apartments. It also incorporated retail space facing the main Keynsham High Street, which has also been significantly refurbished and upgraded.
The development of a leisure centre formed the second phase of the project, which consisted of upgrades across six floors, including the creation of a new fitness suite and learner pool, alongside upgrades to the existing main swimming pool, sports hall and changing facilities. Within this redevelopment, a new café area with a large, children’s softplay and visitor break out area has also been created.
Our Role:
AllPower were contracted to supply, install and commission the LV infrastructure to the Riverside apartment fit-out. This required the installation of new LV panels and submains to landlord ryfield panels in local riser cupboards and independent apartment submains. All corridors and circulation areas were refurbished with new LV power supply to lighting and small power within all landlord areas.
On both the Apartments and Leisure Centre refurbishments, AllPower employed a variety of installation methods, from Metal ladder rack, tray, basket and metal conduit to PVC conduit and various cable types, which made this a very broad and multi-disciplined project for our team.
Within the leisure centre itself, AllPower delivered the supply, installation and commissioning of the LV system throughout the refurbishment. In addition, our works included the installation of all external lighting, specialist systems containment and power supplies, LV installation within the pool areas and the central battery system for the pool emergency lighting.
Our View:
This was a really interesting and varied project for AllPower to be involved in. Being a refurbishment there were a number of unforeseen issues that needed to be resolved and through our experience in refurbishments, we were able to assist the project delivery team with resolutions on many occasions. We enjoyed working and collaborating with the team and it was a pleasure to be a part of this prestigious project.
